What is RECCE Berlin?
As photographers and other creatives we all know how important it is to view every frame as a whole. Knowing how to create a color scheme and contrast in an image is one thing that separates a lot of professionals from hobbyists. The right location and angle can be a deciding factor in how your project turns out. And while a lot of us walk the streets of Berlin with an open photographic eye to find those places, it would still be a great advantage to have online resources that allow a broader view. RECCE is a growing online database that does just that! Not only are there more than 200 filterable locations available right now but these are also equipped with all the relevant information that a creative needs to work with. So get started right now and see what it has to offer for you!

Website Specific Questions
The RECCE Rating is a curated rating by us. Right now it’s not possible for users to rate the locations on their own. The rating consists of following criteria:
- Possibility of side light or backlight on location
- Clean and visible color scheme
- Depth
- Ability to move freely on location
A lower rating doesn’t mean that a location is bad. It just means that a few of the criterias aren’t met. A location with a two star rating could still be very valuable to some people because it could still fit their color scheme or specific style. If a location was truly bad it wouldn’t be on RECCE.
With every entry of a location on RECCE we recommend specific times (CEST) when it’s the best time to shoot there. This recommendation is based on the sun movement around the location. Usually we recommend time slots in which theres the possibility for sidelight or backlight for a subject moving in front of the location.
You can leave feedback via email at mail@recce-berlin.de. If you find that a spot is not the way it’s shown here on RECCE you can also use the report button on the specific location and let us know.
